2022

Babbage undertook the work in two stages. The first stage involved a comparative evaluation of the two options – upgrading the treatment plant or transferring the pond treated wastewater to the Te Aroha network. The second stage was the detailed design of the selected option. After a comprehensive evaluation, Babbage recommended the option of transferring the pond treated wastewater to the Te Aroha network and decommissioning the rest of the facility.

The professional services undertaken during the second stage included desktop reviews, field investigations, detailed design of the pump station and rising main, stakeholder consultation, preparation of construction tender documents, engineer’s estimate, construction supervision and quality control. The design of the pump station and rising main was delivered in June 2022.

Innovation

Enhancing the project's environmental outcomes, lowering the carbon footprint, while reducing the risk profile of non-compliance, project risks and the cost. The design involved an above ground pump station with dry mount pumps.
